A Simple Tool for Big Feelings

The Stressed Little Bun Bun Mindfulness Breathing Cards give children a tangible way to practice mindful breathing. Each card introduces a breathing exercise in a simple, child-friendly format, giving children something they can see, hold, and follow.

The cards can be used at home, in the classroom, during therapy, or anywhere a child could benefit from taking a moment to pause and breathe.

You don't have to read the story to use the cards. They're designed to stand on their own as a simple breathing resource.

Why Take a Breath?

When children experience strong emotions, taking a deliberate breath can give them a moment to pause rather than immediately reacting. Practicing breathing exercises when children are calm can help them become familiar with a simple strategy they can return to when they encounter challenging moments.

Designed for...

Parents & Caregivers
Make Breathing Part of Everyday Life

Keep them nearby for everyday practice or moments when your child needs a little slowing down.

Practice When Things Are Calm

The best time to learn a new skill is often before you need it. Practice the breathing exercises together when your child is relaxed so the cards become familiar.

Make It a Routine

Add a breathing card to a bedtime routine, quiet time, morning routine, or another moment that already exists in your day.

Practice Together

Children don't have to practice alone. Try the exercises alongside your child and make breathing something you do together.

Keep Them Accessible

Store the cards somewhere your child can easily see and reach them. Familiarity makes it easier to remember that the cards are available when a difficult moment arrives.

On Their Own

The Mindfulness Breathing Cards are designed to be a standalone resource. Keep them somewhere easy to reach and use them as part of everyday mindfulness practice, during transitions, before stressful situations, or whenever a child needs a moment to pause and breathe.

Alongside the Book

Pair the cards with Stressed Little Bun Bun Takes A Deep Breath to extend the story beyond the page.

The book introduces children to the experiences and big feelings of Stressed Little Bun Bun. The cards provide an opportunity to take that idea one step further by practicing breathing together.

Keep Practicing

Over time, the exercises become familiar tools children can turn to.

Follow Along

Use the card's simple instructions and visual cues.

Choose a Card

Pick a breathing exercise.

Take a Breath

Practice together and notice how it feels.

Pause. Choose. Breathe.

The cards make breathing practice simple and approachable. Children can explore the cards, choose and exercise, and practice along with the visual prompts.

The Story Behind the Cards

What inspired you to create the breathing cards?

I wanted to give a tactile element to the mindfulness and emotional regulation goal of my dream [to help] kids with stress and axienty as well as being a portable on the go tool they can carry in a backpack.
